Here are 4 quick FREE tips based on my thirty years of fasting experiences

1) If you have never fasted in the past, we suggest you do not try extending your first few fasting sessions beyond seven days. 

Maybe 'play around' with intermittent fasting or do some mini-fasts for a few months and then take the leap and get serious with fasting for health purposes by entering into a therapeutic fast for seven straight days.

Two or three days of 24/7 therapeutic fating doesn't get the job done because it takes about three or four days before the body truly starts the deep tissue cleansing processes.

There is no logic, no need and no benefits in going more than seven days if you never have fasted in the past.

In fact, anything more than seven days at this stage would seem to me to be only an ego trip, a power trip, and potentially harmful to your health.

2) The common problems associated with the first few days of any fasting include fatigue, irritability, muscle aches and pains, headaches. This happens because your body is eliminating toxins into your bloodstream at an accelerated rate. Juicing during fasting slows the detox process down a bit which means the rate of elimination of toxins is decelerated to a level your body can more comfortably handle.

3) Do not use orange juice during any stage of your fasting. It is highly acidic and will exuberate your problems rather than helping. Also, do not break any fast with orange juice. That is the worst thing you can do to your internal organs.

4) Adding colon cleansing coupled with home colonics to the fasting process dramatically reduces the common problems associated with fasting even more than juicing because toxins will be flushed out of your colon for elimination out of your body on a daily basis.


Please take Note of This:

Therapeutic fasting for health reasons is not a procedure, it's a process that is incorporated into a lifestyle.

It's a process with a before, during, after and long after log of events that need to be identified in advance, monitored and consequently engaged.

There is no autopilot when fasting for detox and health purposes, decisions have to be made; almost on an hourly basis.

In summary, it's not the number of days you fast that changes your health in a positive sustainable manner, and it's not a juice fast vs. a water fast, and surely it is not Intermittent fasting which is going to change and improve your health in a fundamental lasting manner... that's not the secret to success... it's what goes on around your fasting- before, during and long after.

That's the key to success when using fasting as a therapeutic tool. It's a qualitative state, not a quantitative are going to need to acquire the skills if you want to truly benefit from fasting.

The more you know, and the more familiar you are with the terrain of detox and deep body cleansing, the better off you'll be and the better off you will find your fasting results.

Fasting without an enabling structure, without continuous support and without professional guidance is like playing tennis or golf without taking lessons, without practicing and without a coach...

Oh sure, you can buy the racket, clubs and balls and hit the balls whenever you like, but with that type of approach you'll never be a winner, and probably, if you are like most people you'll end up quitting long before any positive lasting results manifest.

Your bloodstream, tissues, muscles and cells probably have an abundance of toxic chemicals in them- PCB's, pesticides, Dioxin, Phthalates, PFA and metals...

BUT that is only half the story... inside your colon you have heaps of toxic pollution in the form of mucus and old mucoid plaque which is also loaded with PCB's, pesticides, Dioxin, Phthalates, PFA and metals.

Fasting May Help In Preventing Alzheimer's

WASHINGTON, April 28, 2003

At the end of the experiment all three groups of mice were injected with a toxin that damages cells in the part of the brain called the hippocampus. It's cell damage there that that is involved in Alzheimer's in humans.

When the mouse brains were later analyzed the scientists found that the brains of the fasting mice were more resistant to damage by the toxin than the brains of either dieting mice or those eating normally.

Therapeutic Fasting

As someone who has done more therapeutic fasting with their own body (over 500 hundred days to date in the past three decades) and as someone who had done more intermittent fasting than most people on this planet (25 straight years) I must tell you that intermittent fasting is not therapeutic fasting.

The two should not be confused.

Intermittent fasting is a marketable rage these days... but it is inferior to therapeutic fasting and if sustainable long term health benefits are on your agenda, it would be wise to acquaint yourself with the below information, and wisdom.

A lot of people who have been intermittent fasting for a year or two are making a lot of claims regarding health and weight management that just don't hold up to scrutiny over a decade or two of evaluation.

Fact is they have been intermittent fasting for a short while, so they are not in a position to tell you about health benefits (or lack of lasting benefits) over a period of two or three decades. I am.

I've been deep body caring for over three straight decades, year in and year out, without missing a beat. Therefore, I'm well positioned to comment on fasting.

You can intermittent fast or even therapeutic fast until you are blue in the face but neither of these two therapies on their own are ever going to eliminate this waste from your body, and therefore, the supposed benefits of fasting as a health care protocol are limited until a comprehensive integrated 'Deep Body Care' approach is undertaken by you.

Intermittent fasting is what people who do therapeutic fasting add to their weekly or monthly health care regimens after engaging in therapeutic fasting (seven or more straight days of fasting), it's just another practice from a long list of practices which are engaged in but it is not the core regimen and no one in their right mind should equate the two as equal.

Therapeutic fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body. Intermittent fasting does not accomplish that.

Perhaps the most important benefit of fasting in general is that it thoroughly cleans and purifies the bloodstream. Therapeutic fasting does this much more swiftly and much more effectively than intermittent fasting ever does, or could.

Blood is responsible for delivering nutrients and oxygen to every cell in the body, and it must also carry away metabolic wastes from the cells for excretion in the kidneys and lungs. 

Blood is also the body's immunological watchman, circulating white blood cells, enzymes and other immunity factors on 24-hour-a-day 'search-and-destroy' mission against invaders.

Dirty blood simply cannot perform these functions properly.

As a result, malnutrition sets in, resistance plummets, toxemia becomes a chronic condition, and germs have a field day invading your most valuable tissues.

Therapeutic fasting- why, how, when?

Unless you live an ascetic life far from civilization and avoid all dietary folly, your blood and other tissues are bound to accumulate toxins and generally lose their functional vitality.

If you don't purge yourself of these toxins on a regular basis, toxemia gets worse and worse, until the body cannot stand it any longer and either purges itself spontaneously in form of diarrhea, acne, pimples, boils, 'liver spots', foul perspiration, body odor, bad breath, and so forth, or else it simply gives up the battle and succumbs to cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis and other fatal conditions. 


Therapeutic fasting has always been an important part of Taoist training regimens. Masters made their students fast for prolonged periods to purify body and clarify mind before introducing them to the most advanced techniques.

The ancient Greeks therapeutically fasted for health and longevity, and were known for their robust physical health.

Galen, Paracelsus and Hippocrates, who are recognized as the founding fathers of Western medicine, prescribed and practiced therapeutic fasting for all serious ailments.

Pythagoras required his students to therapeutic fast for 40 days to purify body and mind prior to receiving his highest teachings.

Plato and Aristotle, whose thought forms the very warp and woof of Western philosophy, therapeutically fasted regularly to enhance physical health and stimulate mental powers.

The Bible mentions fasting 74 times, and Jesus himself fasted frequently, sometimes up to 40 days at a time. So did Buddha.


Therapeutic fasting for seven days or more triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Therapeutic fasting is a universal natural response to sickness and debility, not a cultural or religious 'trip'.

To this day, tribes in the Amazon, central Africa and remote parts of Asia maintain 'sick houses' on the outskirts of their villages, where ailing tribesman retire for prolonged and total fasts until they recover their health and vitality.

Hindu yogis and yoginis are famous for therapeutic fasting and colon cleansing.

The Indian saint Mohandas Gandhi is well known for his political feats and less well known for his extended fasting, and even less remembered from the perspective of his colon cleansing. The Mahatma engaged in a continuing turning of the wheel of purification and detoxification.

Gandhi was obsessed with his bowels, and the cleansing of them.

All animals fast instinctively when sick.

It is a highly potent natural anti-inflammatory therapy; it releases cooling yin energy throughout the system.

Within 27 hours of curtailing food intake enzymes stop entering the stomach and travel instead into the intestines and into the bloodstream, where they circulate and gobble up all sorts of waste matter, including dead and damaged cells, unwelcome microbes, metabolic wastes, and pollutants.


All organs and glands get a much-needed and well-deserved rest, during which the tissues are purified and rejuvenated and the functions balanced and regulated. An Associated Press release dated 28 May 1986, reports the following results of forced fasting on laboratory rats in a recent study on aging in America:

When the diets of laboratory rats are severely restricted, they live far longer than do otherwise identical animals that are allowed to eat as much as they want. In fact, researchers say such food limits are the only way they know for significantly extending those rodents' normal life spans.

Therapeutic fasting also reestablishes proper pH balance in the blood.

As we have seen, the Yin and Yang of diet and digestion boil down to acid/alkaline balance in Western scientific terminology.

Blood acidosis has become a major bane of contemporary civilization and is responsible for all sorts of misery.

When acid builds up to intolerable levels in the blood, the bloodstream deposits the acid as crystals in the various joints, where they form spurs that literally 'cement' your joints together and supplant the natural synovial fluids that lubricate joints.

The result is thus painful, debilitating arthritis.

Therapeutic fasting permits enzymes to enter the joints and  dissolve these crystals, thereby restoring the synovial fluids and recovering joint mobility.

Therapeutic fasting eliminates acidosis from the bloodstream itself. In fact, the unpleasant side effects felt during the first three days of a fast are due entirely to these acid crystals and other toxins entering the bloodstream en masse for elimination.

The tenth-century AD Sung Dynasty physician Chang Tsung-cheng wrote extensively on the therapeutic benefits of cleansing the colon of accumulated debris and poisons, and he recommended this therapy for all sorts of seemingly unrelated ailments, including indigestion and constipation, breathing problems, headaches and fever, stiff and painful joints, mental and emotional abnormalities, and so forth. He wrote:

All physicians know that the unobstructed circulation of fresh blood and vital energy are the most important factors in health. But, if the stomach and bowels are blocked, then blood and energy stagnate.


The traditional Taoist method of cleansing the colon involved therapeutic fasts combined with powerful herbal purgatives that dissolved mucus and dredged debris from the colon.

These methods are mentioned as far back as the third century BC, in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine.


Today, chemical laxatives and cathartics have become among the most popular drugs in the Western world, where constipation has become a chronic problem for young and old, male and female alike.

Unlike the natural herbs Chinese physicians used to purge the bowels in conjunction with the therapeutic fasts and nutritional therapy, these Western drugs are inorganic chemicals that are entirely incompatible with the human system. They work by irritating the lining of the colon so severely that is literally recoils like a wounded snake, expelling the offending drug along with whatever loose debris happens to be in the way.

They do nothing whatsoever to remove the deeply impacted encrustation's of putrefied protein wastes, toxic residues of fermentation, and layers of dried mucus.
